Job Summary
Noblegate International Academy seeks an experienced and dedicated Global & Kenyan University Counselor to provide comprehensive college and career guidance to our high school students. The counselor will manage the entire post-secondary application process, specializing in direct international applications to universities abroad (UK, Canada, Australia, Europe, etc.), while maintaining expert knowledge of the Kenyan university admissions system (KUCCPS). A critical initial task will be to establish a complete resource file for Kenya's top universities.

Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities
1. Global College & Program Applications
• Direct International Applications: Serve as the primary school contact, guiding students through various international university platforms, including UCAS (UK), OUAC (Canada), and direct application systems (Australia, Europe, Asia, etc.).
• Document Submission: Manage and submit all school-required documents, including the Counselor Recommendation Letter, School Profile, and official transcripts, adhering to the specific requirements and deadlines of international institutions.
• Essay & Profile Development: Provide individualized feedback, coaching, and workshops for students on writing compelling personal statements/essays, and developing a strong extracurricular and leadership profile for non-US university admissions.
• Selective Program Support: Proactively assist students in applying for highly competitive international programs and scholarships worldwide.
• Financial Aid: Advise students and families on international financial aid, scholarship resources, and the documentation process specific to different country systems.
2. Kenyan University & Admissions Expertise
• KUCCPS Guidance: Advise students on the Kenyan University and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) application process, minimum cluster requirements, and selection strategies for both government and self-sponsored programs.
• Resource Development: Immediately establish and maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date information file for the top 20 universities in Kenya. This file must detail minimum entry requirements, application procedures (KUCCPS and direct entry), fee structures, and admissions cycles for various programs.
• Local Outreach: Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with admissions officers and representatives from top Kenyan universities and tertiary institutions.
3. Guidance & Administration
• Individual & Group Counseling: Manage a student caseload, providing one-on-one sessions and group workshops on career exploration, curriculum choices (e.g., IGCSE, IB), test preparation (e.g., SAT/ACT for non-US requirements), and post-secondary planning from Grade 9 onwards.
• Stakeholder Communication: Organize and lead information sessions for parents and staff on college admissions trends, deadlines, and financial aid options both locally and abroad.
• Data Management: Maintain accurate records of all student applications, decisions, scholarships, and matriculation data.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in college counseling, with a proven track record of placing students in universities both internationally (UK/Canada/Australia/Europe focus) and within Kenya.
• Expert knowledge of the KUCCPS system and various international direct application processes (e.g., UCAS).
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail required for managing multiple deadlines and complex documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to write compelling recommendation letters.
Preferred
• Master's degree in Counseling or Education.
• Prior experience in a Cambridge curriculum or international school environment.
• Active membership in professional college counseling organizations (e.g., International ACAC, CIS).
