Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of our esteemed client is seeking a driven and personable Building and
Construction Teacher. Our client is seeking a dedicated, diligent, and experienced Building and
Construction Teacher to join our team at our Machakos campus. As a subject teacher, you are primarily
responsible for delivering in-depth knowledge of your specific subject or learning area, planning and delivering
engaging practical lessons, assessing student learning through various methods, providing constructive feedback,
monitoring learners’ progress, managing classroom behaviour, maintaining accurate student records, communicating
with parents, and participating in professional development activities.



Key Responsibilities
• Create practical lesson plans aligned with the subject/Learning Area curriculum.
• Sequence content and design appropriate assessments.
• Teach using diverse methods, including practical experiments, inquiry-based learning, digital
tools, discussions, demonstrations, and group activities.
• Evaluate student learning through exams, quizzes, practical projects, presentations, and
observations.
• Provide constructive feedback to students.
• Prepare workshops and practical sessions for individual or group activities, including short-term or long-term projects.
• Maintain a positive learning environment and manage student behavior professionally.
• Track individual student progress, identify areas of need, and provide targeted interventions.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student performance via reports, conferences, or other channels.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and other relevant student information.
• Participate in team teaching and curriculum development; share best practices with colleagues.
• Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to stay updated on teaching practices
and subject knowledge.
• Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and active student engagement in lessons.
• Perform additional duties assigned by management or supervisors as needed.



Qualifications
• Diploma/BED specializing in Building and Construction or Bachelor’s Degree in Building and
Construction with post-graduate Diploma in Education
• 1 years’ experience as a Building and Construction teacher either in secondary school or TVET
• Result self-driven lady/gentleman
• TSC-registered or portal-proof of registration in progress
• Knowledge of CBE is an added advantage
• Basic Computer skills is key
• Ability to meet deadlines and work without supervision
