The Eastern Africa Farmers Federation (EAFF) is looking to recruit a dynamic and motivated candidate to fill the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.

Level

Master’s degree in Finance, Agriculture Economics, Development Studies, Project Management, or related field.

 

Field(s)

Certification in Project Management or Resource Mobilization is an advantage


Experience

3–5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, M&E, or project coordination, preferably in a non-governmental organization

 

Location

Based in Nairobi


Duties and responsibilities

· Participate in developing funding proposals, grant applications, and concept notes that align with donor priorities and organizational objectives.

· Maintain an up-to-date database of donors and funding opportunities, and actively monitor calls for proposals and partnership opportunities.

· Design and implement effective monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks to track project performance, resource utilization, and impact.

· Monitor project activities, budgets, and implementation timelines to ensure alignment with donor agreements and organizational standards.

· Conduct field visits to assess project implementation, verify results, and gather feedback from beneficiaries and partners.

· Document and disseminate lessons learned, success stories, and best practices to inform future programming and fundraising efforts.

· Contribute to the development of the organization’s strategic and annual work plans, ensuring that resource mobilization and monitoring activities support overall goals.

· Produce timely, accurate, and high-quality reports for management, donors, and members.

· Support senior management and leadership in advancing institutional fundraising initiatives and sustainability strategies to enhance long-term financial resilience.

 

Requisite Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Specialized training on M & E and project management

· Proficiency in monitoring and evaluation tools and data analysis.

· Have demonstrated experience in developing and managing M & E databases and tools used in collection and analysis of data for organizations: developing such systems for projects and programs and reporting on performance.

· Have adequate knowledge on of ICT, statistical software, GIS, creation of info-graphics and developing online M &E system

· Have experience and skills in training, communication, writing and support to a dynamic team.

· Must be extremely organized with administrative skill

Contract duration: 
The selected candidate will be offered a three year renewable employment contract with possibility of extension.
