Job Description/Requirements

About the role
The Pharmaceutical Technologist will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical services to patients and customers, manage inventory, dispense and service prescription accurately and manage sales revenue effectively.

They will be expected to work with the management and procurement team. This role reports to the Pharmacy manager.

Key responsibilities include
  • Provide advice for non-prescription medications
  • Oversee sale of described medicines to our clients and generate revenue by calculating, recording and issuing charges
  • Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, removing outdated drugs.
  • Maintains records by recording and filing physicians’ orders and prescriptions.
  • Maintains internal and external safeguards regarding storage and dispensing of pharmacy products by complying with procedures, protocols, rules and regulations.
  • Maintain detailed, meticulous records of all use of medicines, especially of controlled substances.
  • Help patients by greeting them in person, answering questions and requests.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the work station by dusting and vacuuming, washing the shelves and flour and straightening the merchandise.
  • Preparing sales reports on a daily basis
  • Monitor drugs and other medical supplies levels and initiate the procurement process.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with customers
  • Monitor storage conditions i.e. expiry status band security of the pharmaceuticals
  • Any other task that may be assigned by management

Education & Experience
  • A Diploma or Degree in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology
  • At least3 years of proven experience as a Pharmaceutical Technologist in a busy environment
  • Valid practicing license
  • Enrollment Certificate as a Pharmaceutical Technologist awarded by the Pharmacy and Poison Board (PPB)
  • Annual License from the Pharmacy and Poison Board
  • Thorough understanding of prescription techniques
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Aptitude in delivering required reports
  • Computer literacy
