Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Provide round-the-clock care for critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Monitor, assess, and manage patients requiring advanced life support and critical interventions.
- Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient treatment plans.
- Perform and supervise invasive procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, and mechanical ventilation.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records and treatment outcomes.
- Participate in medical rounds, case reviews, and staff training programs.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, ethical standards, and safety protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB or equivalent).
Master’s degree in Internal Medicine, Anaesthesia, or Critical Care Medicine (preferred).
Valid registration and practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing critical care or ICU patients.
Strong clinical judgment, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities, even under pressure.
