Nation Media Group (NMG) is hiring a Newscast Director to lead, coordinate, and implement the planning, production, and presentation of newscasts in alignment with NTV’s mandate.

Main Responsibilities

:

Provide leadership and execute LIVE broadcast coverage while ensuring quality assurance.

Direct top-tier news-related shows and programs, meeting deadlines and ensuring studio and equipment functionality.

Oversee technical aspects of newscasts, including camera shots and on-air product quality.

Operate equipment for program production or LIVE broadcasts from remote locations.

Advise on filter options, lens choices, and visual effects in collaboration with producers and cameramen.

Ensure error-free, well-packaged newscasts.

Conceptualize and deliver breaking news with minimal turnaround time.

Collaborate with production and technical teams to align news content presentation with NTV’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

:

Academic

: Degree in Journalism and Media Studies.

Professional

: Diploma in TV Production.

Experience

: 2–3 years in TV production.

Proficient in lighting configurations (theory and practice).

Strong sense of news and production work.

Ability to operate studio equipment.

Works effectively under minimal supervision.

Decisive and composed under pressure.

Acute attention to detail with a drive for perfection.

Ability to work long, irregular hours in a fast-paced environment.

Editing skills and camera work experience are an added advantage.
