DHL is hiring a Head of Ocean Freight and Road Freight with the following duties and responsibilities;

Overall Goals / Typical Measures

Grow Market Share: Drive growth in both OFR and RFR segments.

P&L Responsibility: Full P&L responsibility for both OFR and RFR, ensuring delivery to agreed budget. • Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry and internal DGF policies and standards for both OFR and RFR.

Customer Solutions Development: Participate in the development and implementation of customer solutions for new accounts.

Resource Management: Ensure optimal resourcing of OFR and RFR to meet service standards.

Customer Relationship Management: Visit customers to maintain relationships, research needs, and monitor satisfaction.

Supplier Management: Maintain relationships with suppliers and manage their performance.

Profitability Monitoring: Monitor profitability of OFR, RFR, customers, and shipments.

Estimates and RFQs: Oversee and assist with estimates and RFQs/tenders.

Invoice Processing: Ensure timely processing of invoices in line with DGF financial controls.

Continuous Improvement: Implement First Choice, Station Improvements, and adherence to quality policies.

Reporting: Produce weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports as required by management.

Service Level Improvement: Improve service levels, internal KPIs, customer satisfaction, and adherence to SLAs.

Revenue Growth: Collaborate with sales to grow OFR and RFR revenue and market share.

Tariff Management: Own and maintain ‘Country ACC tariffs’, RFQs/tenders.

People Management

High-Performance Culture: Develop a high-performance service culture within the functional department.

Organizational Structure: Plan, organize, and direct an efficient functional department.

KPI Development: Develop KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.

Training and Development: Identify training needs and opportunities for skill development.

Employee Engagement: Foster employee satisfaction and commitment to achieve objectives.

Job Requirements.

Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of freight forwarding, specifically OFR and RFR products.

Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management capabilities.

Stakeholder Relationship Skills: Outstanding skills in managing stakeholder relationships.

Team Collaboration: Ability to work in a team environment and transfer knowledge effectively.

Time Management: Strong punctuality and time management skills.

Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving mentality and sound judgment in risk management.

Computer Literacy: Proficient in all MS Programs.

Expected Years of Experience

Minimum of 8 years in the logistics industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial position.

Expected Educational Qualifications

MA in Business Management or a related field; additional qualifications in logistics are a plus
