Job Summary:

The position holder will assist in managing various administrative functions of the hospital, including the effective coordination of catering services for patients and staff. This role will ensure that customer care operations are responsive and centred around patient needs, as well as oversee ambulance services to facilitate timely patient transport. Additionally, the officer will coordinate key hospital meetings and manage the handling, movement, and storage of important documents as assigned, ensuring that all processes are organized and efficient.

S/he will support the Hospital’s management to ensure that all the cleanliness needs of Mildmay Uganda’s facilities and grounds are appropriately planned and implemented according to the required standards.

He/she will lead in the management and development of effective tools that will mitigate risks of infections by ensuring that an infection free environment is constantly always maintained through well-planned cleaning and grounds maintenance programmes.

Key Result Areas:

  1. Provide efficient and effective administrative services for the hospital and clients as required to facilitate achievement of intended objectives
  2. Ensure that the external contract cleaning, grounds and catering services providers offer quality and timely cleaning, compound services across MUg and hospital premises as well as timely catering services for the hospital.
  3. Ensure that all cleaning appliances are in a functional state that is recommended by the manufacturer.
  4. Ensure that all Administrative activities are performed in accordance with ISO/Quality Management Systems.
  5. Coordinate the transfer of in-bound/out-bound parcels or documents to the Hospital administration offices to ensure safety and effective dispatch.
  6. Ensure that there is regular customer feedback collected at the Private Medical Services to ensure efficiency in responding to the customers’ needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or other relevant degree.
  • Candidate must have at least 2 years’ experience in healthcare administration or a related administrative role.
  • Successful candidate should be familiar with hospital operations, policies, and regulations
