Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities
1) Commercial Sales & Account Management
· Own the end‑to‑end sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, site surveys, proposals/quotes, negotiation, contracting, delivery coordination, invoicing, and collections.
· Segment and prioritize HFO consumer verticals (industrial boilers, kilns, power generation, hospitality laundries, cement, tea/food processing, etc.).
· Maintain price realization in line with market benchmarks and internal margin guardrails; proactively manage surcharge/discount rules.
· Forecast weekly and monthly volumes, gross margin, and cash collections in CRM/ERP; report variance and recovery plans.
2) Market Development – Kenya
· Map and continuously update the HFO consumer value chain country‑wide: name, location (GPS), contact persons, storage and decanting facilities, average consumption (MT/month), order frequency, credit terms, and current suppliers.
· Identify switching opportunities by diagnosing pain points (price, quality specs, delivery reliability, credit, safety, downtime).
· Develop and manage the HFO reseller segment: evaluate reseller capacity, cash flow cycles, creditworthiness, and suitable security instruments (LC/BG/cheque guarantees).
· Run structured campaigns (by cluster/county/industry park) with quantified leads, conversion milestones, and post‑sales retention actions.
3) Export & Bulk Trading
· Establish and scale export sales to Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, DRC, and Rwanda, ensuring full compliance with Kenyan and destination‑market regulations.
· Structure large, secured bulk deals with OMCs, industrial off‑takers, and high‑seas counterparties; negotiate Incoterms, laycan windows, and quality/tolerance clauses.
· Coordinate with supply/operations for product availability, vessel/truck scheduling, and border formalities; maintain on‑time‑in‑full (OTIF) delivery performance.
· Work closely with banks on L/C issuance/confirmation and BGs; prepare complete trade‑finance packs (invoices, BL, SGS/KEBS/COQ, insurance, CMR, etc.).
4) Stakeholder & Ecosystem Relationships
· Build strategic relationships with financial institutions for L/Cs, guarantees, and working‑capital instruments supporting larger sales volumes.
· Maintain partnerships with storage/terminal operators, transporters, inspection companies, and insurance brokers to assure reliability and cost competitiveness.
· Engage with regulators and standards bodies to ensure full compliance with HSSE, quality specs, and documentation (e.g., EPRA, KEBS, port/harbor authorities).
5) Governance, HSSE & Compliance
· Ensure all sales are contracted under approved terms & conditions, with appropriate securities and KYC/AML checks completed.
· Uphold HSSE standards during customer site visits, loading/offloading, and decanting; enforce zero harm and incident reporting protocols.
· Maintain auditable sales records, price approvals, and customer communications in CRM; support internal/external audits.
