Requirements:

Salary:   Kshs. 130,000 - 170,000 plus company benefits

Duties/responsibilities:  

  • The regional sales manager (rsm) for coastal region will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening the companys presence across the coastal counties.
  • The role involves leading a sales team, managing key distributor and retail accounts, executing route-to-market strategies, and ensuring consistent product availability and visibility in line with company objectives.
  • He/she will perform the following responsibilities:- sales strategy & execution:
  • Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with national business objectives.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the coastal region.
  • Plan and execute route to market (rtm) activities to grow distribution, retail penetration, and project sales.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify market gaps, pricing trends, and emerging opportunities.
  • Manage product launches and promotional activities within the region.
  • Territory & account management: Maintain and grow relationships with distributors, hardware stores, wholesalers, contractors, architects, project managers, and construction companies.
  • Ensure consistent product availability across all channels: Retail, distribution, institutional buyers, and construction projects.
  • Regularly review stock levels and sales performance at distributor and retail outlets.
  • Expand coverage by onboarding new distributors and key accounts in underserved areas.
  • Team leadership & people management: Recruit, train, and mentor sales representatives and merchandisers within the region.
  • Set performance kpis, track progress, and conduct regular team performance reviews. Coach the team on product knowledge, technical selling, trade marketing, and customer service excellence.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing structures, and credit controls.
  • Technical sales & customer support: Provide technical advice and product demonstrations to contractors, architects, developers, and end users.
  • Support field trials, sampling programs, and technical product trainings.
  • Handle customer complaints, quality concerns, and escalate issues requiring technical support.
  • Market development: Drive brand visibility through merchandising, trade activations, and pos investments. Map and monitor ongoing and upcoming construction projects in the coastal region.
  • Develop relationships with key industry stakeholders (architects, qs firms, engineers, contractors).
  • Represent the company during trade shows, exhibitions, and professional association events.
  • Reporting & administration: Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports, forecasts, and regional market insights.
  • Maintain accurate customer databases and sales pipeline records. Ensure timely collection of payments and strict adherence to credit policies.
  • Monitor regional operational costs and optimize spending.
