About the Assignment

We are seeking qualified and proactive Centre Managers to support the implementation of the Socio-Emotional Skills Development (SESD) training under the NYOTA Project, an initiative by the Government of Kenya and the World Bank aimed at enhancing employment outcomes for vulnerable youth.

The Centre Manager will oversee day-to-day coordination, administration, reporting, and quality assurance of training activities within their assigned county. This is an intensive short-term engagement requiring strong organizational, leadership, and youth engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the SESD training centre and ensure a safe, inclusive, and disability-friendly environment.
  • Coordinate training logistics, including venue readiness, equipment setup, and distribution of training materials.
  • Support trainers in delivering the SESD curriculum and conducting internal daily quality checks.
  • Track and update daily trainee attendance (both manual and electronic).
  • Follow up with youth showing low attendance or engagement.
  • Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, OHS, GBV, SEA/SH guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and end-of-cycle reports.
  • Coordinate guest speakers for career talks and facilitate at least one CSR activity during the cycle.
  • Serve as a liaison between trainers, trainees, PMU representatives, and county-level stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Community Development, Social Sciences, Project Management, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in training coordination, youth programs, or community development.
  • Experience working with vulnerable youth is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced training environment.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry tools.

Contract Conditions

  • Engagement Period: 25th November – 31st December (6 weeks)
  • Work is centre-based with intensive interaction with youth, trainers, PMU officials, and local stakeholders.
  • Flexibility may be required, including occasional weekend work, depending on training needs.
  • Duty Stations: Nakuru, Kericho, and Bomet Counties
