Description

Job purpose:

The purpose of the role is to ensure compliance to food safety management systems, good systems, Good and safety

practices across the entire Feed mill operations and outlets/ shops.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Submits weekly quality report to Quality Assurance Manager to solve work-related problems and review weekly performance on quality matters.
  • Supervise and coordinate quality activities of workers engaged in Poultry feeds processing at the feed mill.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in cleaning the feed mill and waste collection area to ensure high quality of the products, facility and environment.
  • Direct workers in quality assurance audits and inspection including scheduling and sample submission for laboratory testing at the feed mill.
  • Reports results of verification activities and Food Safety Systems updating activities to quality assurance manager monthly.
  • Monitors compliance with food safety, health and safety rules by the general feed mill staff, visitors and contractors.
  • Accomplishes quality assurance human resource objectives by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and disciplining employees, communicating job expectations and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and as per the company Food Safety Management Systems which cuts across the organization.
  • Ensures good Environmental, Health and safety practices at all times and monitors and submits weekly reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Ensures good personnel and Plant hygiene practices at the feed mill at all times.
  • Monitors analytical and performance trends of the microbiology and analytical tests of key tests (Boiler, NIR and Farm audit reports in time)

Education:

  • A minimum of a diploma in food science biochemistry
  • ISO training and Food safety management

Skills and Experience:

  • 3 years’ experience in quality assurance in an FMCG environment
  • Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience.
  • Experience in enforcing SOPs
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate quality assurance activities
  • Data capture and reporting skills
  • Training and mentoring skills
  • Excellent monitoring skills
  • Good verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and within a big dynamic team
