About the role
- The Country Head is the most senior commercial executive and face of our petroleum business in Country.
- This role serves as the primary growth driver and central leadership authority for business operations within the market.
- This role is laser-focused on aggressively expanding market share, revenue, and profitability while providing inspirational leadership and strategic direction to all country-based teams.
- The Country Head has direct line management responsibility for the sales organization and exercises influential leadership over all other functions to ensure cohesive execution of growth strategies and achievement of growth ambitions as articulated in Destination 2030 Strategy.

Growth Leadership and Market Expansion
- Developing and executing robust growth strategies to grow the Company’s market share and drive revenue growth.
- Leading market penetration initiatives, identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, customer segments, and geographic expansion possibilities.
- Setting the Country’s growth targets for the team, drive relentless execution and high team performance in country.
- Conducting competitive intelligence and market analysis to identify growth opportunities and competitive advantages.
- Championing innovative go-to-market strategies, pricing optimization, and value proposition development.
- Driving customer acquisition and retention strategies, focusing on high-value accounts and strategic partnerships.
- Leading major deal negotiations and strategic customer relationships that positively impact business growth.
- Representing the company at industry events, government forums, and key customer and regulator engagements to enhance market position.
- Developing comprehensive country business plans that align with Energy BU strategies.
- Identifying and evaluating strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and acquisition opportunities.
- Driving business development initiatives including new market entry strategies.
- Conducting regular business reviews and adjusting strategies based on market dynamics and performance.
- Managing key stakeholder relationships including government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.
Sales Organization Leadership
- Directly managing and inspiring the sales team to achieve exceptional performance and exceed sales targets.
- Recruiting, developing, and retaining top-tier sales talent while building a high-performance sales culture.
- Establishing sales strategies, territory management, and account planning frameworks.
- Implementing sales processes, performance metrics, and incentive structures that drive results.
- Providing hands-on coaching and mentoring to sales team members to maximize their potential.
- Leading sales forecasting, pipeline management, and performance review processes.
- Driving sales team accountability through regular performance monitoring and corrective action when needed.
Performance Management and Results Delivery
- Taking full accountability for country P&L performance at gross margin level.
- Partnering with functional leaders to jointly set KPIS for all functions in country.
- Ensuring closure of receivables in a timely manner.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Implementing risk management strategies and contingency planning for business continuity.
- Reporting regularly to Petroleum leadership team on performance, challenges, and growth opportunities.
Stakeholder Management & External Relations
- Building and maintaining strategic relationships with key government officials, regulatory authorities, and industry leaders.
- Representing the company's interests in industry associations, chambers of commerce, and policy forums.
- Ensuring positive brand reputation and stakeholder confidence in the market.
What you already have...
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or business related field.
- Master's degree (MBA) is a plus.
- Industry-specific certifications or executive education programs advantageous.
- Minimum 10-12 years of progressive leadership experience in petroleum, oil & gas, or related energy industries.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of driving significant business growth and market share expansion.
- Experience managing sales organizations and achieving ambitious revenue targets.
- Experience working in emerging markets or similar economic environments.
