The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) is the government body that regulates Uganda’s petroleum industry, overseeing everything from exploration and production to refining and transportation. Its main functions include monitoring operations to ensure legal compliance and international best practices, promoting value for money for the country, and ensuring environmental and social protection. PAU also supports commercialization projects, facilitates national participation, and manages economic aspects of the sector.
