Heifer International is a global non-profit organization founded in 1944 that works to end hunger and poverty by supporting farmers and communities in sustainable, long-term development. The organization’s approach involves providing “seed capital” like livestock or other agricultural investments, followed by training, mentorship, and access to markets to help families build businesses and achieve a sustainable living income.
